Everything you need to know about ChalkBot.ai for your online education business.
ChalkBot integrates with Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, LearnDash, Moodle, Canvas, and Blackboard out of the box. We also offer a REST API and webhook system for connecting with custom platforms. LMS integrations are available on the Course Creator plan and above.
No. ChalkBot works alongside your existing LMS, not as a replacement. It connects to your platform via API and syncs student data, course progress, and enrollment information. Your students continue to use your LMS as usual — ChalkBot handles the automation layer on top.
You connect your LMS by providing API credentials during setup. ChalkBot then syncs student enrollment, progress data, assignment submissions, and quiz scores on a regular interval (typically every 15 minutes). Changes in ChalkBot — like sending a reminder or updating enrollment — are reflected back in your LMS where supported.
If your LMS has a REST API or supports webhooks, we can likely build a custom integration. Training Company plan customers get custom integrations included. For other plans, contact us to discuss options — many custom integrations can be set up within a week.
Yes. ChalkBot supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 (3rd and 4th edition) content packages. You can import SCORM content and ChalkBot will track completion status, scores, and time spent. SCORM support is available on the Training Company plan.
ChalkBot acts as an xAPI Learning Record Store (LRS). It receives and stores xAPI statements from compatible content, giving you detailed activity-level tracking beyond what SCORM provides. This includes tracking video watch progress, document reads, and interactive element engagement.
Yes. Upon course completion, ChalkBot can auto-generate digital certificates with unique verification URLs. We also support Open Badges 2.0, so credentials can be shared on LinkedIn and verified by employers. Certification tracking is available on the Training Company plan.
All student data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Data is stored in SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure. We never sell student data or use it to train AI models. Your data belongs to you — if you leave, you can export everything.
Yes. ChalkBot is designed to comply with FERPA requirements for handling educational records. We act as a "school official" under FERPA and maintain the required data protections. We'll sign a FERPA-compliant data processing agreement upon request.
ChalkBot is fully GDPR compliant for organizations serving EU students. We support data subject access requests, right to erasure, data portability, and explicit consent management. Our Data Processing Agreement is available for all customers.
AI grading uses Anthropic's Claude model for generating feedback. Student submissions are sent to Claude for processing but are not stored by Anthropic or used for model training. We have a zero-retention data processing agreement with our AI provider.
Yes. You can configure courses to award specific CE credit amounts. ChalkBot tracks credits earned per student, sends renewal reminders when certifications approach expiration, and generates CE transcripts for auditing purposes.
Absolutely. Training companies using ChalkBot for compliance training (OSHA, HIPAA, food safety, etc.) get mandatory completion tracking, deadline enforcement, automated reporting to compliance officers, and audit-ready documentation.
